Handmade Chess Board

This massive chess set is a sight to behold! Utilizing natural colours, the board itself is made with laminated Wenge and Curly Maple squares (2" squares for tournament play), framed with Paduak.

The base unit (cork lined for piece storage) features a delightful combination of walnut rails and exotic striped chamfered side panels. The framing is reinforced with maple splines. The top simply lifts out to access the storage space inside.

The oversized pieces are custom designed based on classical imagery, and are individually hand turned on an antique lathe The white is turned from curly maple and the black from walnut, featuring paduak and maple accents on main pieces respectively.

Finished with a food grade resin varnish and wax combination.
